Solid Waste Management reminds residents of dumpsite regulations

Heather Ainsley  ECB Publishing, Inc.  There are currently 10 sites in Jefferson County where a resident may bring their refuse to be discarded. At this time, the Solid Waste Office recycles only cardboard and metal, although their main department site offers a year-round drop off location for hazardous waste like paint, furniture polish, fertilizer, etc. The main site is locate behind the office, which is located at 1591 S. Waukeenah St., in Monticello. It is open Monday- Sunday from 7:30 a.m. until 7 p.m.  The staff at Solid Waste would like to remind all citizens there are labeled dumpsters at each of the available sites, and request that all residents be mindful when using th
