
Some Aldi stores returned to Winn Dixies

Given recent events, the question that arises relative to the local Winn Dixie is not so much whether Aldi will convert it into one of its brand stores, but rather whether it will remain part of the original Winn Dixie family.
Various news outlets report that after purchasing Winn-Dixies and Harveys Supermarkets from parent company, Southeastern Grocers Inc. (SEG), last year, Aldi recently struck a deal to sell a portion of the acquired stores back to the former.
A group led by C&S Wholesale Grocers (CS), a supply chain partner of SEG, and members of Winn-Dixie's management team, reportedly spearheaded the buyback effort.
