Some building and planning functions may soon be available online

Local officials not long ago approved a contract that not only puts the county in compliance with new state law, but it will make it easier for staff in the building inspections, planning and code enforcement operations to do their jobs, as well make it easier for customers to access and submit forms and payments.
The contract is one that the Jefferson County Commission approved in mid-July with CivicPlus, a Kansas-based technology and software platform company that describes itself as “empowering the public sector with technology that boots efficiency and resident satisfaction.”
