The Jefferson-Somerset Tigers not only are winless for the 2020-2021 football season, but are scoreless. The North Florida Christian Eagles delivered the Tigers their second shut out in a 32-0 trouncing Friday night in Tallahassee. Friday night’s contest was the fourth consecutive year the two teams have met on the gridiron and, according to the Tallahassee Democrat, they have all been wins for the Eagles. There were at least two bright spots for the Tigers in the loss: first, they held NFC to a little under their average 36.6 points per game in their three previous meetings and second, the Tiger’s defense held the Eagles scoreless in the fourth quarter. In the end, the tigers fell 0-2 overall and 0-1 in conference play and have been outscored 79-0.
Next Friday, Sept. 18, will be the Tigers home opener against Sneads, who will come into Tiger Stadium on the opposite end of the win/loss spectrum at 2-0. Friday’s game will be the first of only two home games for the Tigers, on Oct. 2, they will host FAMU for homecoming.
