The Annual Richardson Pond Fishing Tournament is returning for 2020, after a two year hiatus. Thomas Richardson will host the event on September 26th in a stocked pond at 895 Hiawatha Farms Road. The 10 foot, 210' X 84' pond will provide plenty of outdoor fun for the tournament.
The day will start with a timed event from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. when Richardson will host residence of the Florida Sheriff's Youth Ranch ages 5-14 and award 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes. After 10 a.m., fishing is open to all kids and adults. Participants may bring their own chairs and fishing equipment or, for those needing fishing gear, Richardson will have some available to loan for the tournament.
The pond will be stocked with a variety of fish. There is a minimum size required to keep each type of fish including Large mouth bass must be 12" and shell crackers and brim must be a minimum of 6 inches long. Channel catfish must be 14 inches or longer.
Once caught, fish must be placed on a stringer and varying points are awarded based on the type of fish caught.
Social distance will be made possible by 25-30 foot section around the pond where participants are asked to remain for health and safety reasons. For further information, call Thomas Richardson (850) 997-5759.
