Are you a poet that aspires to be the next William Shakespeare?
Students with skills in rhyming and writing are invited to participate in the Southern Shakespeare Company's sixth annual Sonnet Contest.
This contest is open to middle and high school students as well as recently-added college/adult category.
Sonnets of all subjects, in any voice, are suitable for this contest (as long as they follow the sonnet form), and the selected winner will receive prizes that are valued at over $1,000.
The contest is open now, and the submission period will remain open through Thursday, April 30.
Sonnets may be submitted to sonnet@southernshakes.org.
Be sure to include your contact information and be certain to include the category of the submission (either middle, high, or college/adult).
Each writer may submit two sonnets into this contest.
In the words of the Southern Shakespeare Company, “Time to dip that quill and channel some Will!”
The Southern Shakespeare Company is a Tallahassee-based artist group that focuses on introducing the public to the works and words of William Shakespeare through theatrical performances, festivals and contests.
