For those of you who are looking for a great time this Saturday, you're in luck! Southern Music Rising is proudly presenting their third Singer/Songwriter show on Saturday, Aug. 20, at the Monticello Opera House. This live show will feature the talents of Grant Peeples, Dana King and Danny Goddard as they take to the stage and share not just their amazing talent, but amusing road stories and good-natured banter among the artists. Goddard and Peeples are good friends, and have played at festival events and other concerts together over the years, and the pair are not shy about describing past road adventures.
This show will feature the striking voice of King for the first time in conjunction with Peeples and Goddard, and will feature not only original songs from each artist, but also various duets amongst the three. Guests can also enjoy the hilarious commentary in between music sets, and enjoy the stories that these artists have collected along their artistic journeys.
With the inclusion of amazing talent, brand new songs and a premiere collaboration between these incredible artists, this show will certainly be one for the records! You aren't going to want to miss out on the fun, the laughter and the spectacular performance of the summer! This show will be the third Singer/Songwriter show that Southern Music Rising has performed in Monticello, and the first since 2016. Previous shows have yielded large support from the community, with standing room only. Profit raised at the show will help fund the Southern Music Rising Festival coming up in November.
For this show, the Monticello Opera House has partnered with Southern Music Rising. The doors open at 6 p.m. with a cash bar, and the show starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are available for $20 in advance or for $25 at the door the night of the event. To purchase a ticket, visit Monticellooperahouse.org/shows or call (850) 997-4242.
