Special Olympics Torch Run goes through Jefferson County

The Rapid Response Team and K-9 Team from Jefferson Correctional Institution (JCI) were joined by members of the Monticello Police Department (MPD) and Jefferson County Sheriff's Office (JCSO) on Tuesday, April 16, as Jefferson County did its portion of the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics.
Around 8:30 a.m., the twenty-five participating officers gathered on the south steps of the Jefferson County Courthouse and lit the Special Olympics Flame of Hope.
