Special Olympics Torch Run goes through Jefferson County

Laura Young ECB Publishing, Inc.  The Rapid Response Team and K-9 Team from Jefferson Correctional Institution (JCI) were joined by members of the Monticello Police Department (MPD) and Jefferson County Sheriff's Office (JCSO) on Wednesday, April 9, as Jefferson County did its portion of the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics. Around 8:30 a.m., more than 20 participating officers gathered on the south steps of the Jefferson County Courthouse and raised the Special Olympics Flame of Hope.
