Spring turkey season starts on Saturday, March 16, and lasts through Sunday, April 21. Florida is home to six million acres of wildlife management area (WMA) systems and offers two subspecies of wild turkey, the eastern wild turkey and the Osceola or Florida wild turkey. The Osceola only lives on the Florida peninsula. Before going turkey hunting, consider the following:
Florida residents and visitors hunting for turkey are required to have a Florida hunting license, management area permit and a wild turkey permit. The legal turkeys to hunt are bearded turkeys (gobblers). Additional fees for hunting permits, when taking or attempting to take turkeys ar
