The St. Phillip Community Center is the only recreation park located in the small St. Phillip community, and it is looking for support as it plans to give the gathering place an upgrade. Specifically, the center is asking businesses, agencies and organizations to become vendors or sponsors of an upcoming fundraiser for renovations, playground equipment and regular upkeep expenses of the center.
The fundraiser is planned for Saturday, May 20, which is Emancipation Day. Vendors and sponsors, however, are asked to register a month in advance, by April 20.
Opportunities are as follows, with increasing promotional exposure and priority table placement with each sponsor level:
• Vendor Table - $100
• Bronze Sponsor - $250
• Silver Sponsor - $500
• Gold Sponsor - $1,000
Other than the St. Phillip A.M.E Church, the Community Center is the only establishment where nearby residents can hold social gatherings, host community events and recreate with their family and friends. The center hopes to have strong attendance at the Emancipation Day fundraiser, along with the support of many vendors and sponsors.
