As our beautiful community continues to grow, we all want favorable development with good things for each and every one of us!
Infrastructure such as walkable spaces, separated/protected multiuse walking and bike lanes, and recreational areas attract tourism and are good for local residents as well! Research has shown that just having these features encourages physical activity and a healthier lifestyle.
What about our visitors? Some of the most desired facilities for visitors are biking paths and walking/nature trails. These attract nature loving folks to our town who tend to patronize small businesses.
Let’s not forget infrastructure such as the availability of broadband to all our community. Studies have shown that higher levels of broadband implementation in communities led to better economic growth including more equitable access to education, lower unemployment, and higher incomes with better social outcomes overall.
Today we have an unprecedented opportunity for these types of improvements with many grants and sources of funding available. How can we on a grass roots level support this for our community?
