The history of Black Americans will be the focus of an upcoming event that will be presented by Perceptions Consulting on Saturday, Feb. 22.
Through storytelling, music, dancing, historical trivia and a movie presentation, Jefferson County residents will be immersed into the journey of African-Americans.
“From the slave ship to the factory,” the event promises to tell “stories of our journey” to all those who attend.
This event will be held on Saturday, Feb. 22, from 6-7:30 p.m., at the Jefferson County Kilpatrick Auditorium, located at 575 S. Water St.; the event's previous venue was at the Teen Center, but the event organizers changed the location in order to accommodate more guests and attendees.
In addition to the educational material, stories and music, there will also be prizes and refreshments for those who attend.
Attendees are asked to make a $10 donation at the door.
