
Structure fire reveals no definitive cause Fire Chief advises residents to hold off on outdoor burning

On Sunday, April 27, Jefferson County Fire Rescue (JCFR) responded to a call about a reported brush fire located at an address off of West Capps Hwy., in Monticello. When rescue personnel arrived on the scene, they discovered that there was also a structure at the scene that was fully involved in flames, although it was difficult to determine if the structure was a house or a shed. There was also a small grass fire that had started in the median and on the north side of the ditch near the highway.
