The school year is quickly approaching, and efforts are underway to ensure the children of Jefferson County have what they need to succeed in the classroom. It's no secret that starting a new academic year can be quite costly to parents, as they often need to purchase backpack essentials like notebooks, pencils and calculators, which can quickly add up at the checkout even during the tax holiday. This year, Jefferson County K-12 Community Partnership School (JCS) is planning to provide all students with the supplies they need during the Back-to-School Bash on Aug. 1. To support this effort, the annual “Stuff the Bus” School Supply Drive is planned for July 25.
At the drive, the goal is to fill a bus with essential items, which will be distributed to students before the school year begins. Those who would like to donate to the drive are encouraged to refer to the following list, so that they can ensure students' greatest supply needs are met.
Here is a list of the especially needed items:
• Notebooks
• Pencils
• Backpacks
• Gluesticks
