On August 23, 1999, Shereka L. Tice gave birth to a six pound baby boy named Tavoris Kenard Tice. Although born in Tallahassee, Tavoris resided in Jefferson County the majority of his life.
Tavoris attended Jefferson County Middle/High School where he joined the JROTC program. Due to his hard work and great dedication, he soon became Cadet Command Sergeant Major Tavoris Kenard Tice. Upon his high school graduation in May of 2019, Tavoris had served four years with his beloved JROTC. He loved being a part of the JROTC and had goals of enrolling in the military.
Tavoris had a great love for nature and animals. His favorite colors were blue and black. He also loved music and doing arts and crafts with his mom and sisters. Fast cars were always the topic of conversation with his sister, JaKiyah, with dreams of one day owning his dream car, the Dodge Charger. Most of all, Tavoris was known for his quiet, shy personality, coupled with his polite and gentle spirit. Tavoris’ friendly smile was even said to be contagiously heart-warming by his former coworkers at Hardees, Pizza Hut and Winn Dixie.
Tavoris loved his family and especially his sisters. Although the girls would get on his nerves, he loved them to pieces. This was often displayed by the time he spent watching Empire and playing UNO with them. He would do anything asked of him without hesitation.
Throughout his life, Tavoris attended Holy Temple in Tallahassee and St. James Church of God In Unity in Monticello. On May 4, after twenty-one years, eight months, one week and three days of earthly living, God saw fit to call Tavoris home.
Left to cherish Tavoris’ sweet memories and undying love are his mother: Shereka L. Tice; his father: Harold Faust; his guardians: Phillip and Melissa Harris; his siblings: Jasicianna Tice, JaMya Brockman, Jakiyah Brockman, Katelyn Faust, Kianna Faust, Brian Bowman, Phillip Harris, Jr., Shamar Harris, Shamyra Harris, Kemyra Harris and Jermaine Brockman; his grandparents: John Williams, Elder Hattie L. Baker, Bernice Harris, Reverend Nathaniel Harris, Robin (Warren) Avrett; and a host of aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
Tavoris was preceded in death by his grandmother, Diane Tice, his “bigma”, Magalene Williams and his aunt, Anita Beverly.
