TEACHER SPOTLIGHT – Deven Heard

Aucilla Christian Academy wants to welcome their new Physical Education Teacher, Deven Heard.
Heard was born in Tallahassee but grew up in Taylor County and now is a resident of Tallahassee. He is married to Kimberly and has two stepchildren, Kaden Lee and Karsyn Lee. Heard enjoys the simple things in life such as hunting, fishing and Gator football. He is very motivated and determined to continue growing as a follower in faith, husband and father.
Heard graduated from Florida State University; College of Applied Studies in Recreations, Tourism and Event Management. This led Heard down the path of physical education. He was a Physical Education Assistant at Florida High and coached their JV/Varsity baseball program. Heard believes teaching middle school and high school is an essential job because it's a crucial change for the young mind. He hopes to be able to reach out and inspire each student to follow their dreams.
His main goals other than teaching students about physical education is to make a significant impact on the children and to make sure they know someone cares for them. He hopes that all students remember him for the fun energy he brings to teaching and the sports he coaches. “Character counts just as much as credentials. Who you are is just as important as what you know- Inky Johnson” is a statement that Heard wants all of his students and ACA family to know and remember.
