Terry Eugene McKenney, 80, passed away on Jan. 28, 2022, in Tallahassee, Fla. He was born Jan. 30, 1941, in Cobb County, Ga., the son of Artice Eugene and Opal Louise (Stansell) McKenney.
In his younger years, Terry was in the Georgia Air National Guard. He moved to Monticello in 1984, was a master electrician and enjoyed tinkering with all things electrical. He also loved deep sea fishing and, most of all, spending time with his beloved family.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Eleanor Jean Barron; and a brother, Seldon Green. Survivors include his wife, Alice (Stennett) McKenney; daughters, Donna Kay Strange (Charles), of Milton, Fla., and Tommie Jean Cathcart (Robert), of Live Oak, Fla.; brother, Glenn Kay McKenney (Katrina), of Lithia Springs, Ga.; sister, Virginia Hardy, of Douglasville, Ga.; grandchildren, Jessica Peak (Todd), Matthew Strange (Krysta), Brandon Strange (Sara) and Jarrett Cathcart (Chelsea); and great-grandchildren, Carter Peak, Myles Peak, Skyler Strange and Kinsley Strange.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 2, in the chapel at Beggs Funeral Home, 485 E. Dogwood St., Monticello. Interment will follow at Oakfield Cemetery in Monticello.
