A nationwide recall has been issued for approximately 26,550 pounds of TGI Fridays' honey barbecue boneless chicken bites that may be contaminated with pieces of clear, hard plastic.
The 15-ounce cartons subject to the recall are marked with lot code KL3K03, a "best by" date of Dec. 26, 2024, and bear an establishment number of "P-20287" inside the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) mark of inspection.
The recall comes after Simmons Prepared Foods Inc., the producer of the chicken product, notified the Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) that it had received consumer complaints reporting pieces of plastic were found under the breading of the boneless chicken bites. However, no confirmed reports of injury or illness have been reported.
The FSIS advises consumers to either discard or return the recalled products instead of consuming them.
