Preschool students at Jefferson County's Head Start program celebrated the birthday of Dr. Seuss last week. Special activites each day were arranged by Site Director Althea Thompson and teachers Fazie Bennett, LaWanda Jones and Rose Howard to highlight favorite characters and enduring themes from the stories of the famous children's book author and illustrator.
On Monday they focused on “Green Eggs and Ham.” Tuesday was Silly Socks day with a nod to “Fox in Socks.” For midweek they had Wacky Wednesday. Thursday was Crazy Hat day, and on Friday they enjoyed a visit from The Cat in the Hat himself (a.k.a. Librarian Terez Washington).
