In our previous conversations regarding the requested banner I followed up each time with Jefferson Somerset Academy Charter school. They promised they would do something and on the 4th time, they mentioned they were getting a jumbo Tron. This apparently fell through. Please understand that for the last six years, we have been under financial restraints by the state of Florida Department of Education. We were not allowed to purchase anything they deemed “frivolous”. This includes banners or signs, of which we were quoted $1200 and up.
Mr. Aman, if you knew we were getting turned down, why would you not show up to a school board meeting and get on the agenda as a concerned parent and citizen?
To blame the school board, current superintendent or previous one is unfair and not based on facts. I am trying to raise money for the banner and you are more than welcome to donate. As for the big salary you claim we get the state sets those salaries not us.
Thank you,
Bill Brumfield
District 4 school board member
