The towns we see in North Florida today, such as Monticello, Madison, Live Oak, Perry, Quincy and more, are relatively few when compared to the ones that were originally founded. Our present towns are only the ones that have survived the test of time; countless others did not, yet they contribute to the history of our area nonetheless.
One such town was Port Leon, which was located in modern-day Wakulla County near St. Marks, close to the coast.
