On Thursday, March 26, military veterans are invited to come by CowHaus Coffee Company, located at 100 N. Jefferson St., for a free cup 'o joe and the opportunity to learn about a variety of resources for veterans. The event lasts 9-11 a.m. and is organized by American Legion Post #49 in partnership with CareerSource Capital Region and CowHaus.
“This is one way for the Post to be visible in the community and to help vets find help,” said American Legion Post 49 Commander Ed Gifford.
Coffee with a Veteran events were first organized many years ago by The American Legion and the USO as a way to reach out to military veterans in communities to find out what their needs were and what services they might benefit from.
CareerSource provides services for veterans one on one or in a group setting and include job search and placement assistance; career planning and counseling; assessment and testing; interviewing skills training; referrals to educational and vocational programs; job fairs; labor market information; and referrals to supportive services.
For more information about the event, call Commander Gifford at 330-354-5533.
