Last Friday, Sept. 10, was an easy game for our Aucilla Christian Academy (ACA) Warriors as they traveled to St. Francis Catholic Academy and showed the Wolves they were no match. The Warriors were victorious over the Wolves, besting them 32 to 6.
Tripp Joyner, the Warriors quarterback, completed five out of five passes for 94-yards, with the longest being 51-yards. Not only was he “threading the needle” to hit each of his receivers, but Joyner showcased his footwork, rushing only five times for 43-yards. Jace Grant and Dakota Hagan followed suit, as combined they rushed for 201-yards with only 15 carries, averaging 13.4-yards per touch. Grant had three touchdowns, with his longest being 53-yards, and Hagan had one touchdown from seven yards out. It seemed the Wolves had no answer for the Warriors’ offense, as they could run the ball “straight up the gut” and take to the air with their top receiver of the week, Gabe Gamalero. He had three catches for 37-yards and one touchdown for 12-yards.
The Warriors defense did just as well holding the Wolves only to six points stopping any and everything coming their way.
The Warriors will be on their way to an undefeated season if they keep this level of performance up with only seven games left in the season. This Friday, Sept. 17, the Warriors will be facing off with the Joshua Christian Academy Eagles at home.
The Eagles have yet to play a game this season, but after last year's season with a record of 1-3, things look pretty promising for the Warriors.
