Each year, the best football players in the Big Bend area are selected to be part of the All-Big Bend teams. Normally, there are four different teams that are selected - First Team All-Big Bend, Second Team All-Big Bend, Third Team All-Big Bend and Honorable Mention. This year, only two teams were selected, and three of the players on Second Team All-Big Bend were Aucilla Christian Academy (ACA) seniors.
Brady Browning, a senior quarterback, safety and punter at ACA was selected as the Second Team All-Big Bend Athlete (ATH), after scoring 90 points, with 1380 total yards and 39 tackles this season. Browning also grabbed six interceptions at the safety position. Being labeled as an ATH means that Browning was recognized for his outstanding athletic ability and versatility, which he showcased on both offense, defense and special teams for the Warriors.
Liam Mediate, a senior offensive and defensive lineman for the Warriors, was selected as a Second Team All-Big Bend offensive lineman, with a 91 percent grade and five pancake blocks per game. Mediate was a brick wall on the offensive line for the Warriors, no doubt protecting his offense and contributing greatly to the success of the team. The hole Mediate will leave on the offensive and defensive lines will be hard to fill next year.
Will Sullivan, a senior linebacker, center and long snapper for the Warriors, was selected as a Second-Team All-Big Bend linebacker. Sullivan picked up 112 tackles, three sacks, two fumble recoveries, two forced fumbles, two tackles for a loss and one interception over the course of the 2020 season. He also had the second most tackles per game in the Big Bend. Sullivan used his speed and grit to protect the Warriors end-zone from their opponents and keep the opposing team’s score to a minimum.
All three of these Warrior football players will be greatly missed on the field next season and have contributed to the success of the football program for the past few years. Congratulations to Brady Browning, Liam Mediate and Will Sullivan for representing Jefferson County on the All-Big Bend team!
