When students have access to clean clothes and essential hygiene items, they can focus on learning instead of worrying about their basic needs. Clothing closets boost confidence, improve attendance and help students feel prepared and supported.
The Jefferson K-12 Tiger Closet offers discreet access to coats, socks, school-appropriate outfits and toiletries for families facing financial hardship or housing insecurity. Open to all students and families in Jefferson County, it’s a vital resource for our community. Support from members of the community keeps this vital resource stocked and available. Here are items that are always needed:
• Hair products: combs, brushes, shampoo and accessories
• Girls’ and boys’ underwear, t-shirts and socks: all sizes
• Girl’ and boys’ pants: sizes 5-16
• Sneakers: all sizes
• Coats, hoodies and jackets: all sizes
Other ways to make an impact include the following:
• Volunteer your time to help organize and maintain the closet.
• Donate to support ongoing needs.
• Spread the word by sharing this initiative with friends and on social media.
Let's continue strengthening our students, our families, and our community! Get in touch with us by contacting the Community Partnership School Team at Jefferson K-12 at 850-347-7050.
