Tigers advance in district baseball tournament

Rick Patrick ECB Publishing, Inc.  The Jefferson County Tigers put up 10 runs in the fifth inning to come from behind and defeat the Robert F. Munroe High School Bobcats, 14-6, in the opening game of the Rural Class District Five Baseball Tournament. The Bobcats held a 5-4 lead going into the fifth inning. Then, in the bottom of the fifth inning, the Tigers cranked up the heat and scored 10 runs to take a commanding 14-5 lead. The Bobcats managed one run in the top of the seventh TTreinning, but the Tigers carried the game in the end.  Britt Jimenez had one hit in his one at-bat with one run batted in (RBI).
