On Friday, Oct. 21, the Jefferson County High School Tigers hosted their long-time rival Bulldogs from Taylor County High School. It turned out to be a game dominated by the Bulldogs as the Tigers fell, 54-14, in the contest.
The Bulldogs went out to an early lead, scoring 20 points in the first quarter. The Tigers were able to hold the Bulldogs scoreless during the second period and the score was 20-0, in favor of the Bulldogs, when the teams went into the locker rooms at halftime. The third quarter was a bit more competitive; however, the Bulldogs still continued to outpace the Tigers. The score was 34-8 at the end of three quarters. The Bulldogs continued to extend their lead during the final period, outscoring the Tigers 20-6 during the fourth quarter, bringing the final score to 54-14.
The Tigers will now host the Hornets of Lafayette High School on Friday, Oct. 28. The Hornets are coming off a 42-0 shut-out win over Trenton High School. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m., at Tiger Field.
