On Friday, Sept. 8, the Jefferson County High School Tigers hosted the Eagles of North Florida Christian School, from Tallahassee. The Tigers fell behind early and were not able to catch the Eagles as they were defeated 47-12.
The Eagles struck first and held a 7-0 lead as the opening quarter drew to a close. The Tigers were then outscored 20-6 during the second quarter and, by halftime, found themselves in a 27-6 deficit. The Tigers were again outscored in the third period, 17-0. The Tigers attempted to claw their way back into the contest, scoring another six points, while holding the Eagles to one field goal in the final quarter of play.
The Tigers will travel to Panama City to take on the Buccaneers of North Bay Haven Academy on Friday, Sept. 15. The Buccaneers have a record of 1-2 and are coming off a 33-19 defeat at the hands of Destin High School. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. central time, at North Bay Haven Academy, located at 1 Buccaneer Dr., in Panama City, Fla.
