Transforming Life Church
On Palm Sunday, April 10, Transforming Life Church (TLC) will host a teaching and meal based on the Jewish Feast of Passover. The Passover Feast commemorates Israel's deliverance from slavery in Egypt. On Passover, Jews also celebrate the birth of the Jewish nation after being delivered by God from captivity. The Passover Feast was the last meal, or “last supper,” that Jesus ate with his disciples before being arrested and, ultimately, crucified.
Pastor Tim Buchholtz, lead pastor at TLC, states, “Christianity has its roots in Judaism and it is especially important at this time of the year, Easter, to reconnect with those roots to understand how Jesus became the Passover Lamb. We are excited to have Rabbi Joshua Lessard come and share his teaching on this important feast, and its connection to us as New Testament believers.”
Messianic Judaism is an expression of faith in Jesus that combines the lifestyle and heritage of Judaism with the New Covenant teachings of Jesus as the only provision for salvation from sin. Rabbi Lessard is ordained as a Messianic rabbi through the International Alliance of Messianic Congregations and Synagogues. He holds degrees in music as well as a Master's of Divinity with an emphasis in Messianic Jewish Studies from The King's University. He is the founding rabbi of Tree of Life Messianic Fellowship in Tallahassee, Fla., where he lives with his wife and children. He has been a conference speaker on such topics as Messianic prophecy, life in the Holy Spirit, and the relationship between Messianic Judaism and Rabbinic Judaism. He is the co-author of a book on the relationship between Torah and the Holy Spirit entitled At the Foot of the Mountain: Two Views on Torah and the Spirit.
This special service will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, April 10, with a time of praise and worship and then flow into the Seder/Passover meal.
Space is limited, and the church asks that you reserve a seat at a table by emailing Transforming@live. com with your family name and how many will be in your party.
Children are invited to sit with their family for the teaching and meal or if parents prefer there will also be Kid’s Church for K through grade 6. Childcare will be available for infants and toddlers.
