Tri-County Electric Cooperative (TCEC) is celebrating 80 years of service to members in Madison, Jefferson, Taylor and Dixie Counties this year. TCEC is a member owned electric utility with 67 employees working together to provide quality, safe, and affordable electric service to its 13,000 members.
Over the past few months as COVID-19 began to spread TCEC continued to focus on providing reliable electric service while keeping the health and safety of employees and members a top priority. Changes were put in place throughout all of their offices, and using technology implemented years ago, TCEC continued serving its members/ consumers. Seeing a need to provide relief to its members feeling the economic impacts of the pandemic, TCEC management made the decision to waive late fees and service disconnections over six months ago as well as offering generous payment arrangements as needed.
“TCEC would like to thank everyone who participated in our 80th Annual Meeting on September 19, 2020. Over 900 members registered in the drive-thru registration and many more tuned in to the virtual business meeting and prize drawing. If you haven’t had the opportunity to view the virtual business meeting, we invite you to visit and catch up with your co-op,” says Julius Hackett, TCEC CEO.
“As a local business, we are proud to power your life and bring good things to our community. We hope you will continue to guide our efforts by sharing your perspective as we plan for the future. The energy landscape is undergoing dramatic change fueled by evolving technology and consumer desires for more options. While the larger environment in which we operate is constantly changing, one thing remains the same, by working together, I’m certain that we can continue to do good things for our community.”
