Trial of Reams temporarily postponed because of emergency; McNeill pleads out

The trial of former Clerk of Court Kirk Reams and Deputy Clerk Justin Tyler McNeill, which was scheduled to begin on Monday morning, Aug. 19, was reset at the last minute because of unusual circumstances.
The explanation given by the clerk of court’s office for the delay was that a family emergency had occurred with the defense team. Social media soon identified Wendy Metty Collins, wife of chief Defense Attorney David Collins, as a missing person and an alert was put out by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO).
