A May 7 trial date has been set for Taylor Fain Searcy, the driver charged with DUI manslaughter and vehicular homicide in the death of the late Jefferson County Commissioner Stephen Walker.
Judge J. Layne Smith set the May 7 trial day in a hearing in Wakulla County on Thursday, Dec. 5, after denying a defense request for a continuance.
In light of this latest court development, the Walker family is asking those in the community who knew Walker to write a letter on his behalf, describing his good qualities, so that the judge may understand the tremendous loss that his death represents to the family.
The electronic letters can be sent to swalkerletter
