Backpack Buddies of Jefferson County is teaming up with Aunt Louise's Farm for Trunk or Treat on Halloween night 6-8 p.m. Bob and Louise Jones of Aunt Louise's Farm are graciously opening the gates to the farm for this outreach event. Families can enjoy the corn maze and the farm animals as well as visit the trunks for candy, toys, books and other goodies!
The cost for entrance into the farm is $3 per person. All of the money raised will go towards supporting our local feeding program, Backpack Buddies, which provides bags of foods for 50 food insecure children attending Jefferson County Schools. This program is community supported and run by volunteers who pack and deliver the food to the school each week. Backpack Buddies also gives food, turkeys and hams to the families of the children in the program for special holidays such as Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter. Each child has a personal sponsor who shares encouraging cards and special items such as school supplies, hygiene needs and fun gifts.
Join us at Aunt Louise's Farm on Oct. 31 for a family friendly evening on the farm!
You can also sign up to host a trunk, All that is required is a bag of candy and a smile. If you're interested, email Louise Jones, louise@auntlouisesfarm.com.
