Two Monticello girls win medals at YMCA nationals

Ella and Adalynne Parker of Monticello recently won several medals when they competed as members of the Thomasville Twisters gymnastics team in the YMCA National Gymnastics Championship, held June 22-24 at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks, Pa. The championship event, which was first held in 1938, had a theme in 2024 of “Dream” and involved more than 4,000 gymnasts, family members and coaches from more than 75 YMCAs nationwide. Ella, age 13, has been doing gymnastics at the YMCA in Thomasville, Ga., for two years.
