For years, Jefferson County 4-H campers have enjoyed a week at 4-H camps and have participated in day camps in their county. But this summer, those traditional activities have been put on hold. 4-H Agents in the Florida panhandle know that summer “just isn’t summer” without 4-H camps. So, they are bringing summer camp to you!
In Mid-May, registration for several virtual camps opened in order to allow young people to still attend camp but while maintaining social distancing rules.
Some of the virtual events are self-directed, meaning they can be completed at their own pace, while others are interactive, meaning they will take place only on listed dates.
Youth do not have to be a current 4-H member in order to participate in this virtual fun – these camps are also entirely free of charge!
To register your child for one of these virtual camps or courses, visit sites.google.com/ufl.edu/virtual4h/home.
You can also read more about the camps on the website before committing into a registration.
Parents with questions can contact Jefferson County 4-H Director John Lilly at (850) 342-0187 or email jgl@ufl.edu.
