Walker Family donates portrait of late commissioner to county

Family members of the late Stephen Walker recently presented the Jefferson County Commission with a portrait of the former commissioner, along with a plaque, both intended for display in the Courthouse Annex. The presentation took place at the start of the commission meeting on Thursday, Aug. 21, with the Walker family donating the portrait and plaque and afterward posing for a group photo with the commissioners. Walker, 59, died on Oct. 29, 2023, when his v
