The Aucilla Christian Academy (ACA) Warriors improved their record to 6-2 by defeating the home team Bell High School Bulldogs, 21-7, on Friday, Oct. 21.
The contest began as a defensive match, as both teams were held scoreless during the first quarter. The Warriors were able to get on the scoreboard with a pair of touchdowns in the second quarter to take a 14-0 lead into halftime. The Bulldogs cut into the Warriors' lead in the third quarter with a single touchdown. The score was 14-7, at the end of three quarters. The Warriors managed to extend their lead during the final period, adding another seven points to their total, bringing the final score to 21-7.
Joshua Agner went three-for-three, for 26 yards and one touchdown pass to Tucker Wiles for the Warriors. Jace Grant led the Warriors' rushing attack with 144 yards on 21 carries and two touchdown runs.
Defensively, Ethan Bass, Ryan Adams and Grant had eight tackles each for the Warriors.
The Co-Offensive Players of the Week for the Warriors were Ethan Bass and Agner. The Defensive Player of the Week was Adams. The Co-Practice Players of the Week were Adam Day and Brewster Bass.
Next, the Warriors (6-2) will travel west to face the Sharks of Destin High School, on Friday, Oct. 28. The Sharks are coming off a 40-22 defeat at the hands of Hilliard High School, on Friday, Oct. 21. Destin High School is located at 4325 Commons Drive West, in Destin, Fla.
