A back-and-forth game between the Aucilla Warriors and Countryside Christian Minutemen ultimately resulted in a tough, 62-55 loss for the Warriors’ first game of the season.
The Warriors put up a good fight against the Minutemen for the entirety of the game on Friday, Dec. 4. The Minutemen used the fourth quarter as their final push to take home the victory, and the Warriors ultimately took the loss.
Will Sullivan led the team in all statistical categories and contributed greatly to the final score of the game. Sullivan had 24 points, with two three-pointers, six two-pointers and six free throws. He also led the team in rebounds with 22.
Kaedin Fisher also contributed to the team’s total points, scoring 11, and Tyler Slaughter’s three steals and four assists no doubt helped the Warriors compete with the Minutemen.
The Warriors’ second game of the season ended in the same result as the first, with the Warriors falling to the Munroe Bobcats 64-28. A lack of rebounding in the first few minutes of the game set the tone for the rest, which ultimately led to the downfall of the Warriors.
Sullivan, again, led the team in points and rebounds, this time with 11 and 18, respectively. He also led the team in assists, with four, and in blocks, with two. Slaughter recorded 6 points and one assist. Justin Hall grabbed four rebounds and blocked two shots. Jared Grant led the team in steals, recording two.
The Warriors are now 0-2 this season, but have a chance at redemption against the Countryside Christian Minutemen, as they face them at home on Friday, Dec. 11, at 7:30 p.m.
