The Aucilla Warriors celebrated Homecoming on Friday night by snapping a two-game losing streak, defeating Fullington Academy 40-20. Friday's outing was the second time the teams met this year; the Warriors swept the series 2-0. For the second outing, Aucilla's defense showed some vulnerabilities early on that allowed the Trojans to draw first blood, putting points on the board before Aucilla. By halftime, Aucilla had turned it around to take the lead 20-6. ACA quarterback Brady Browning completed 2/2 passes for 89 yards, then ran for 127 yards on seven carries and scored three touchdowns. Running back Jared Grant had 18 carries for 131 yards and three touchdowns. Wide receiver Hunter Hughes caught two passes for 89 yards. On the ball's defensive side, Will Sullivan led the team in tackles with 22 and a fumble recovery. Clay Trest contributed to the defensive effort with 13 tackles.
Game honors went to:
Offense player of the week: Jared Grant.
Co-Defensive Players of the week: Clay Trest and Will Sullivan.
Warrior of the week: Brady Browning.
This week, the Warriors go to Bell, Fla. to take on the Bell Bulldogs in the last regular season game.
