The Aucilla Christian Academy (ACA) Warriors scored 21 unanswered fourth-quarter points to come from behind to improve their record to 4-2 on Friday, Oct. 7, when they defeated the Knights of Rocky Bayou Christian School, 35-28.
The game was a close match during the first quarter with the only difference in the 8-7 score was the difference between ACA's one point extra point kick following their opening drive touchdown and a two-point conversion following a Rocky Bayou touchdown. During the second quarter, the Knights scored another touchdown to take a 15-7 lead into halftime.
The Knights continued to out-pace the Warriors during the third quarter and the score was 28-14 as the game entered the final period. The Warriors tied the score at 28 when Jace Grant scored one of his four touchdowns of the night on a “scoop-and-score” fumble recovery. The Warriors scored one more touchdown in the final period to seal their 35-28 victory.
Jace Grant had another stellar rushing performance to add to his phenomenal season. Grant had 246 yards on 32 carries, with three rushing touchdowns. Joshua Agner toted the ball 13 times for 145 yards and one rushing touchdown. Defensively, Aiden Day led the Warriors with eight tackles. Grant was named the Defensive Player of the Week. Agner earned Offensive Player of the Week honors. The Scout Team Player of the Week was Dmitrey Davis.
Next up for the Warriors will be Homecoming, with all the fun and excitement that goes along with it. The ACA Warriors will face Warriors of Harvest Community School on Friday, Oct. 14. Kickoff for the game is set for 7 p.m., at Warrior Field.
