On Friday, Sept. 8, the Aucilla Christian Academy (ACA) Warriors varsity football team enjoyed a resounding 48-0, shut-out win over the visiting Eagles of Trinity Christian Academy, from Deltona, Fla.
The Warriors built a 21-0 lead during the opening quarter before adding 14 more in the second period, to carry a 35-0 lead into halftime. From there, the Warriors were able to cruise during the second half, adding 13 more points to their 48-0 total.
Josh Agner and Landon LaRosa were named the Co-Offensive Players of the Week for the Warriors. LaRosa went four-for-four passing for 76 yards and one touchdown pass for 40 yards to Tucker Wiles. LaRosa also ran the ball three times for 33 yards and two rushing touchdowns. Agner rushed for 65 yards on six carries. Aiden Gray was named the Defensive Player of the Week for his scoop-and-score fumble recovery and touchdown. Cooper Wiles was named the Scout Team Player of the Week. Brandon Key toted the ball four time for 37 yards and one touchdown. Ethan Bass had three rushing attempts for 24 yards and a touchdown. Bass also led the team in tackles with six, including a fumble recovery. Danny Andrews contributed 25 yards on the ground on three carries and a touchdown. Defensively, Garret Lundell recovered a fumble and had one tackle.
Next up for the Warriors will be an away game in Valdosta, Ga. against the Generals of Georgia Christian School. The Generals are 0-2 and are coming off a 54-0 shut-out defeat from the Valiants of Valwood School, from Valdosta, Ga. The game is set for 7:30 p.m., at Georgia Christian School, located at 4359 Dasher Rd., in Valdosta.
