The Aucilla Christian Academy (ACA) Warriors took advantage of numerous turnovers and a strong ground game to shut-out the Wolves of St. Francis Catholic, 46-0, at home on Friday, Sept. 9.
Jace Grant was named the Offensive Player of the Week after leading the Warriors in rushing with 128 yards on six carries, including two touchdown runs of 31 and four yards. Ethan Bass toted the ball eight times, for 58 yards and one touchdown. Josh Agner threw the ball twice and completed both passes for 33 yards. Agner had one touchdown pass, a 17-yard touchdown connection to Eli Conrad.
Defensively, Ben Gamalero had two tackles, two interceptions and a fumble recovery, which earned him Defensive Player of the Week Honors. Grant had a fumble recovery for a touchdown on the defensive side of the ball. Tucker Wiles tallied seven tackles on defense, along with 20 rushing yards on offense. Ryan Moody recorded six tackles, including a tackle-for-loss and a pass deflection.
Next, the Warriors (2-1) will face the Generals of Georgia Christian Academy, in Valdosta, on Friday, Sept. 16. The Generals (1-2-1) are coming off a 39-14 loss at the hands of the Valiants of Valwood School. Georgia Christian Academy is located at 4359 Dasher Rd., in Valdosta. Kickoff is slated for 7:30 p.m.
