Despite a tumultuous ending to the 2019-2020 school year, Jefferson Somerset teachers, staff and administration celebrated the school's Class of 2020 graduates with an unorthodox graduation ceremony.
Due to COVID-19, the school had to make changes to their typical graduation ceremony in the hopes of preventing spread of the virus.
While an in-person graduation ceremony for friends, families and community members was not possible this year, Jefferson Somerset still attempted to provide its graduates with a sense of celebration and accomplishment and on Monday, June 1, the school released a virtual video graduation on the school's YouTube channel.
Friends, extended family members and Tiger supporters can view the 2020 Jefferson Somerset Graduation Video by visiting SomersetJeffersonK12 on YouTube.
The video is almost an hour long and includes a foreword by Principal Cory Oliver, an opening prayer from Jefferson County School Board member Shirley Washington, an address by several students and an introduction to this year's Tiger Graduates.
