Waukeenah Highway set for resurfacing and widening

The Jefferson County Commission awarded the contract for the roadwork to C. W. Roberts Contracting Inc. on Thursday, May 16, for $2,272,685.40, with the funding to come from the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT). The portion of Waukeenah Highway to be resurfaced and widened in this first phase is 4.5 miles, from U.S. 27 to Nash Road. The work will entail resurfacing the road and widening each lane from 11 to 12 feet. It will also entail striping, improved signage, addition of paved shoulders and drainage upgrades.
