Locals who are in need of testing for COVID-19 will be able to visit four different sites through the month of June, as the Departments of Health (DOH) in Jefferson and Madison Counties will be opening for virus testing this month.
“Our continuing goal is to test two percent of our population in June,” writes the DOH-Jefferson.
Residents do not need to be showing signs or symptoms of COVID-19 in order to receive testing at these temporary test sites. For most of the sites, you will not need to make an appointment and all sites will allow residents to drive-through and remain in their vehicle during the process.
This month's COVID-19 testing sites in
Jefferson County will be:
The Jefferson County R.J. Bailar Public Library: Tests will be conducted on Friday, June 19, from 3-7 p.m. The library is located at 375 S. Water St.
The Jefferson County Department of Health: Tests will be conducted on Monday, June 22, from 9-11 a.m. You will need to register for this testing. Call (850) 342-0170 in order to register in advance. The local Department of Health office is located 1255 W. Washington St.
While not inside the county, Jefferson County residents will also be able to use these two testing sites in Madison County:
The North Florida College Gym: Tests will be conducted on Friday, June 12 and Friday, June 26, from 3-7 p.m. The gym is located at 325 NW Turner Davis Dr., in Madison.
The Madison County Department of Health: Tests will be conducted on Monday, June 15 and Monday, June 29, from 9-11 a.m. You will need to register for this testing. Call (850) 997-5000 in order to register in advance. The Madison County Department of Health office is located 218 SW Third Ave.
If you are currently exhibiting symptoms of an illness, contact your local department of health before driving up for testing, as there may be special testing directions that must be followed in order to prevent spread of any illness.
