Will JCS earn a “C” this year?

Most of the Nov. 13 meeting of the Jefferson County School Board was set aside for a presentation from Jackie Pons, principal at Jefferson County K-12 School (JCS). He called his update a “state of the school” address, in which he discussed important accomplishments, areas still needing work and progress toward achieving at least a “C” grade for the school by the end of this school year. Pons, who served as a transition principal during the last year of the Somerset administration, has continued to serve as the JCS principal since the school district was returned to local control in July of 2022.
