William “Bill” Frank Douglas of Monticello, Fla. passed away on Tuesday, July 27, 2021.
Born July 17, 1949 in Patterson, N.J., raised in Lake Park, Fla. Bill graduated from the University of Florida in 1973 with a Bachelor of Design in Architecture. In 1982, Bill married Pamela “Pam” Starling and they resided in Monticello. Pam was his love and the source of all his happiness.
Upon moving to Monticello, Bill joined EMI Architects and served a 40-year tenure and retired in July of 2019 as Vice President. While in Monticello, he was a founding member and proud advocate of the Monticello Rotary Club since 1983. Bill was also a founding member of the Ocklocknee River Kennel Club. Bill proudly served in all official capacities for both the Monticello Rotary and the Ocklocknee River Kennel Club.
In his spare time, Bill loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren, he was an avid reader, cared greatly for his fur kids and truly enjoyed volunteering in his community from fundraising to building handicap ramps. Where there was a need, Bill was there. Bill chose to live life full of kindness.
Predeceased by his mother, Dorothy B. Douglas, and his father, Frank S. Douglas. He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Pam; devoted father to daughters: Heather Charisse Douglas-Shoup of Tallahassee, Fla. and Molly Marie Williams of Monticello, Fla.; son-in-law: Aaron E. Shoup and Christopher D. Williams; grandchildren: Haley, Christian, Connor and Kyle; sister: Charalyn J. Blagg and husband, Ronnie; Aunt Shirley Johnson; additional survivors cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and dear friends.
Memorial service will be held Saturday, Aug. 7, 2021 at 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 325 Walnut St., Monticello. In lieu of flowers, if you wish, give to the Monticello Rotary Club in memory of Bill at Post Office Box 781, Monticello, Fla. 32345. All donations will continue to support Bill’s legacy in serving our community.
