William Edward “Eddie” Holden, 68, passed away on Aug. 9, 2021 in Tallahassee, Fla. Mr. Holden was born on Feb. 15, 1953, in Arcadia, Fla. to Joe and Elaine Holden of Monticello. Mr. Holden and his late wife, Joan, were married April 7, 1974. He is survived by his two daughters: Laura Holden and Dorothy Holden; his mother: Elaine Bishop Holden; sisters’- in-law: Donna (Tim) Overstreet and Margaret (Paul) Pelletier; and beloved nephews: Ian (Andrea) Overstreet, Robert (Brandi) Overstreet, Paul (Danna) Overstreet; and nieces; Amy (James) Steffes, Tiffany Pelletier; and Cheryl Pelletier; plus, other numerous family and friends.
Mr. Holden attended Central Baptist Church of Aucilla. He was the pastor at Central for 14 years as interim and their full time pastor. He is known for his love of Gaither Gospel music, Mrs. Lucy McKown’s banana pudding, FSU football, preaching and fellowshipping with his church family, his 2 daughters and his wife, fried chicken and his red daisy pig.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 13, at Central Baptist Church of Aucilla for any who wish to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Central Baptist Church building or music fund.
