Calvary Baptist Church will hold a Winter Revival at its location, 285 Magnolia St., in Monticello. The revival's services will be held nightly from Wednesday, Feb. 5 through Sunday, Feb. 9 at 7 p.m.
Revival services will be led by Evangelist David Spurgeon, from Biker Criminal To Christ. He lived life in the fast lane until his life changed.
It took several years of life in prison for God's Word to finally reach Spurgeon's soul but when it did his life opened into a new light, a new beginning.
“I am thankful for all who prayed for me, and I thank the Lord for giving me a second chance,” shares Spurgeon. “Most people in the life I chose died in their sin without salvation. I was extremely blessed that someone came and brought me the Gospel of Christ. I learned that “…all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). And that famous verse, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).
“God sent his Son to die so that I might live. In Romans chapter 10, I read, “That if thou shall confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved” Verse 13 says, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” I called upon the Lord with an honest heart and He saved me! Do not risk waiting as I did. I had no guarantee that I would live long enough to repent. Neither do you. If you are not saved, please accept the Lord Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour. You will never regret it.”
All are welcome to join with others for a week of spiritual awakening and understanding God's Word. Come together and share the Word of God with Spurgeon and others. Maybe you can find the peace that he did.
A nursery for children will be provided.
